For the best detail in the cookies, its highly important to keep the dough thin. 1/4 inches is best, the thinner the cookie, it takes less time to bake and spread. getting rid of the baking powder will assist in minimizing the rise in the cookies and reduce spreading and loss of detail. When mixing the butter and sugar in the beginning of the recipe known by its more technical name creaming, it is also important to not mix it too long as mixing it for too long will cause too much air to be incorporated.

When utilizing the stamp, please make sure to utilize the stamper before the cookie cutter. This will provide for premium quality detail in the finished product.

A full sheet of instructions and helpful tips comes with every order.

We design stamps and cutters because this allows you to modify the thickness of the cookie dough the way you want, and provides you better control of the stamping action (Makes for exquisite detail in the final cookie).

Here are some more detailed tips and tricks on reducing cookie spreading and minimizing loss of detail with the Red Bird Star Wars Rebel Cookie Cutter.

1. Parchment Paper:

Cover your baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat instead of applying any amount of fat and/or oil. Cookies appear like they expand more on buttery/greasy slippery areas.

2. Cookie Thickness:

How thick are your cookies? More substantial they are, it takes lengthier amounts of time to help the cookies set, and the more time they have to spread. Mine are different thicknesses based on my gut feeling, however most of the time, they are about quarter inch thick. If one prefers a more substantial one, try raising the temperature of your oven a couple degrees. Every recipe and baking appliance is different, so try out different settings and see what works best.

3. Butter:

Speaking of liquid, the h20 thats inside the butter purchase will affect issues of cookie spread. As for how to know which butters have more/less water content, so far I have just had to experiment with competing butters to see what works best. I have not found any indication on packaging mentioning percent of water. Generally, I have found that less expensive butter is, more water there is present in the product. I cant talk about margarine or other types of fat (sorry!), butter is my mainstay friend in the field of baking.

4. Baking Sheets:

I might like my shimmering parchment paper, it appears that cookies baked on a thick baking sheet lose less detail .

5. Correct Measurements:

Baking is like a science… In case ones measuring is off it can change the whole recipe when making use of the Red Bird Star Wars Rebel Cookie Cutter. For example, too much sugar changes the cookie batter. Canesugar(sugar) turns into a puddle when heated and greater amounts of melted sugar causes spreading. You must have some canesugar(sugar) after all, cookies are the topic of discussion.

6. Incorporating Too Much Air:

Cautious one should be in mixing the sugar and butter excessively (Normally the initial part of a recipe called creaming). excessively mixing the sugar and butter shall cause excessive amounts of air to be integrated. Normally I mix mine just until the ingredients come together.

7. Oven Temperature:

Check to make sure your oven actually is in the correct degrees fahrenheit by using a thermometer suitable for ovens. If your oven is not hot enough, the cookies dont set quick enough, and the cookies lose more detail. Also looking inside ones oven to observe the progress of the cookies, will cause a loss of temperature and increase spreading.

8. Chill the Dough:

after one has prepared the cookie batter and it has rested for at least an hour, Using the Red Bird Star Wars Rebel Cookie Cutter, cut your cookie shapes out and shove them in the refridgerator for at least an hour or more previous to sticking them in the oven. In regards to rolling again left over dough – it appears that the very first batch of dough which has only been rolled once, expands at a minimum. Pondering I am might it have to do with the gluten being overused in the batter.

9. Baking Powder:

Whichever cookbook instruction you are utilizing, one should not use baking powder with the cookie dough. I used to remove it completely exclusively for more detailed cookies, now I omit it all the time.
