For the best detail in the cookies, its important to keep the cookie dough thin. 1/4 inches is best, the thinner the cookie, it takes less time to bake and spread. Also, removing the baking powder will assist in minimizing the rise in the cookies and reduce loss of detail and spreading. When mixing the butter and sugar in the beginning of the recipe known as creaming, it is very important to not mix it too long as overmixing will cause undesirable air to be incorporated.

When utilizing the stamp, please make sure to use the stamper before the cutter. This will make for premium quality detail in the cookie after baked.

A full sheet of instructions and helpful tips comes with every order.

We design cutters and stamps because this helps you to change the thickness of the cookie dough the way that best suits you, and gives you more control of the stamping action (Makes for exquisite detail in the final cookie).

Here are some more detailed tips and tricks on reducing cookie spreading and minimizing loss of detail with the Hello Kitty Mustache Cookie Cutter.

1. Oven Temperature:

Check to make sure your oven actually is at the right temperature by using a thermometer suitable for ovens. In the case ones oven is not hot enough, the cookies dont set quick enough, and the cookies lose more detail. Also remember that looking inside ones oven to observe the progress of the cookies, will make the oven lose heat and affect cookie spreadage.

2. Correct Measurements:

Making cookies is akin to a scientific discipline… If your measurements are off might it dramatically affect the final cookies when making use of the Hello Kitty Mustache Cookie Cutter. Take for instance, Excessive canesugar(Sugar) will affect the cookie batter. Sugar becomes liquid when melted and more liquid causes spreading. You must have some canesugar(sugar) after all, we are talking about cookies.

3. Cookie Thickness:

How substantial is the cookie you make? The thicker they are, it takes lengthier amounts of time to help the cookies set, and the greater amount of time to lose detail. Mine are different thicknesses based on my gut feeling, however most of the time, they are about 3/4 cm – 1cm thick. If one prefers a more substantial one, try raising the temperature of your oven a couple degrees. Every recipe and baking appliance is not the same, so try out different settings and see what works best.

4. Parchment Paper:

Cover your cookie sheet with wax paper rather than applying any amount of fat and/or oil. Cookies appear like they spread out more on buttery/greasy slippery areas.

5. Baking Powder:

whatever cookbook instruction your using, one should not use baking powder in the dough. In the past I would take it out exclusively for more detailed cookies, but I remove it now everytime.

6. Butter:

Speaking of liquid, the amount of water in the butter you buy shall dramatically affect issues of cookie spread. As for how to know which butters have more/less water content, I only try out different brands to figure out the creme de la creme. I have not seen information on the butter making mention of h20 content. Generally, In my experiences the cheaper the butter, more water there is present in the product. I cant talk about margarine or alternative forms of butter (apologies!), as I do not bake cookies with any other fat than butter.

7. Incorporating Too Much Air:

Be careful not to mix the butter and sugar too long (Usually the first step of making the dough called creaming). excessively mixing the sugar and butter shall cause excessive amounts of air to be integrated. Normally I mix mine just until the ingredients come together.

8. Chill the Dough:

after one has prepared the cookie batter and not agitating it at a minimum of 60 minutes, Using the Hello Kitty Mustache Cookie Cutter, cut your cookie shapes out and shove them in the refridgerator for at least an hour or more before baking. Regarding re-rolling dough scraps – it appears that the very first batch of dough which has only been rolled once, expands at a minimum. Im wondering might it have to do with the gluten in the flour being overworked.

9. Baking Sheets:

It may be that I simply like my shiny, new baking sheets, it appears that cookies baked on a thick baking sheet seem to spread less .
